About
Built by an engineer, for engineers
On a construction site, knowledge is spread thinly: across drawings and revisions, geotechnical reports, survey, service searches, plant, programme and the people who know the ground. The temporary works design brief is the point where all of it has to come together and pass to someone who was not there. When temporary works go wrong, the cause is often not the engineering but the information the engineering started from.
TworkX treats the brief as an exercise in information dissemination. It gives the site team a structured way to record what it knows, checks the record against itself, proposes the risk categories with the reasons behind them under the TWfAU guidelines the industry already works to, and issues it in a form the designer can rely on and trace.
It is not a design tool, and it does not try to be one. The engineering judgement stays with the temporary works designer and the checker. TworkX makes sure they start from a clear, complete and well ordered account of the works, so the questions that come back to site are the ones only the site can answer.
What it is built on
Captured once
The works are described as data, once. The text, the tables and the drawings of the brief are all drawn from that one record, so they cannot disagree with each other.
Traceable to its source
Every value carries where it came from: the drawing, the report and page, the survey or the author. A designer can test any number back to the document behind it.
Issued complete
Gaps, conflicts and open items are flagged before the brief is issued, and anything still open is handed over as an open item rather than left for the designer to discover.
